I’m not going to pretend like I knew who PnB Rock was before this week, but from the looks of it the guy was a very popular LA rapper whose music videos rack up tens of millions of views on YouTube, which explains why there’s so much outrage over his death on social media.
Unfortunately, much of that anger seems to be channeled at his girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang, rather than the people who actually shot him to death on Monday. You see, PnB Rock had been eating at a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in LA with his girlfriend at the time of his shooting. Shortly before he was gunned down, his girlfriend published an Instagram post that tagged the restaurant’s location. Before they knew it, a bunch of people turned up, robbed PnB of his jewellery, and shot him to death.
When news began to spread that PnB Rock’s girlfriend had tagged the restaurant’s location on IG when she shared a scrumptious photo of chicken & waffles, people began victim-blaming her. Still, others defended her. Here’s some of the reaction:
PNB rock’s girlfriend posted their location on IG. 20 minutes later some robbers came and shot him. The same scenario happened with Pop smoke. You people need to learn to stop posting your location while you’re still there. pic.twitter.com/cHAO4frk48

PnB Rocks girlfriend just lost her partner, childs father and friend. Please be a decent person and stop blaming her for an innocent mistake. She’s definitely already blaming herself. She doesn’t need the entire internet doing the same.

The backlash on PNB Rock’s girlfriend is so wild. This is probably already the worst day of her life and on top of that millions of people are saying it’s her fault. I hope she’s ok mentally.

It does seem completely cruel and unfair to blame this young woman for her boyfriend’s death, especially for doing something as innocent as tagging a location on Instagram. It’s probably something she does all the time! The last thing she’d expect is for some gangbangers to be specifically looking at her page and clock she’s PnB Rock’s girlfriend and then decide to drive over there and kill the guy in front of her.
Besides, rappers are killed left, right and centre in LA all the time. It’s not like Nipsey Hussle or Pop Smoke were killed because there was a girlfriend involved sharing their location. There’s people out and about scheming on these LA rappers all the time.
Anyway, it’s just mad that anyone would focus their ire at this girl and not the people who actually committed this senseless act of violence. RIP PnB Rock and thoughts with his friends and family…
