Ed Sheeran is sort of well known for collaborating with everyone all over the musical sphere from Stormzy to Bring Me The Horizon, but I’m not sure if any of us ever saw him writing a song with death metal legends Cradle Of Filth.

I’m not sure how the collaboration came about other than Ed saying that he’s actually a fan of the band and that they’re both originally from Suffolk/Ipswich, but apparently they’ve almost finished a song together and it’s well on its way. Dani Filth was speaking at Knotfest when he said the following:

We still have yet to finish our song with Ed Sheeran. He’s done some of it, but the he had a baby and then he got obviously sidetracked with that and doing whatever Ed does, which is play massive shows around the globe.
He’s not at our beck and call. But he is gonna finish it, he assures me. Actually, I spoke to him quite recently.
Ed’s a fan of Cradle Of Filth and said he would do anything for the project.
He suggested doing it for charity as that would draw attention away from the wildly contrasting music styles and give it a bit of credibility.
Would that give it a bit of credibility? Anyway, I can’t say that I’m usually that interested in Ed Sheeran but I would definitely give this a listen to see what they managed to come up with.
I would full on expect it to be absolutely awful too – maybe not Lou Reed and Metallica levels of bad but something along those lines – but it would also definitely be a part of history. Can’t see too many charities desperately bidding to get involved with it though, can you?
For more of the same, check out Ed Sheeran’s thoughts on urinals. Very stupid take on the subject.
