At least 10 police officers showed up to deal with a crazed knifeman who was standing on top of someone’s house in the early hours of Wednesday in Birmingham this week.

Somehow the lunatic managed to clamber down without falling flat on his face, but was then repeatedly tasered into submission before he could do any real damage:

Well it took about 5 taser shots, but they got him down eventually. Do they need to raise the voltage on those things or what? More to the point, how lucky is this guy that he didn’t pull this stunt over in the States? They would have shot him without a moment’s hesitation. Probably wouldn’t have needed a dozen officers to turn up either.

All in all very good work by West Midlands Police, aside from the shocking treatment of those black bins of course. Hope they’re OK.
