If you clicked this hoping that Jeremy Kyle’s former security guard Big Steve had taken up the drag life, then I’m sorry to disappoint. Rather, the 63-year-old (!) has landed himself a new role on Ru Paul’s Drag Race, according to an insider.
The source told The Star:
“Steve has been on hand to help make sure filming is going smoothly and everyone is super safe. He’s the best in the business and has had plenty of work since leaving Jeremy Kyle.”
Turns out Big Steve also did security for Judge Rinder throughout 2020, a year after Jeremy Kyle got taken off air following the suicide of a former guest and other controversies that were unearthed following an inquest. It revealed the shocking treatment guests and members of staff received over the course of 17 series from 2005 to 2019. 14 years of Jeremy Kyle being biggest c*nt on television! Both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
At the time, people were really worried Big Steve would be left without work…
So yeah, essentially the story here is ‘security guard loses job, gets another job’, but at least now we all know what Big Steve is up to. Obviously it would’ve been great to find out he was appearing on the show as his drag queen alter ego, but maybe they can convince him to do that yet.
Never forget:
Meanwhile, Jeremy Kyle returned to TV last year as a presenter on TalkTV. As we saw the other week, he’s still a bit of a bell-end.
