Turns out age is more than just a number as R Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison last month, finally paying the piper for the long history of allegations against him.
Over the years there have been rumours that mothers around Illinois were literally offering their daughters to R Kelly, or plotting on how to romantically involve their children with him. Court documents leaked by No Jumper suggest this was the case with at least one of the young girls he’s said to have abused. Get a load of this:
Wow, how messed up is that? Furthermore, the mum would sometimes pose as the daughter, catfish R Kelly, set up a date and then send her off to meet him:
They were on a mission to set R Kelly up, and basically admitted as much in court:
Obviously none of this makes R Kelly innocent and we mustn’t forget how many accusers have come forward over the years, but it’s still wild to think any parent would use their child like this in hopes of a payday. I guess money does crazy things to people.
The question is – should the parent(s) bear any legal responsibility for this? Mothers pimping their underage daughters to known predators? Sounds pretty criminal to me. Maybe these mums made some kind of deal with the prosecutors that protected them in exchange for testifying against R Kelly? Since he’s the one they really wanted to take down after all. I don’t know how it works but it’s another weird twist in an already immensely weird and twisted saga. R Kelly is planning to appeal his case, so let’s wait and see what happens with that.
Meanwhile in prison, R Kelly has become BFFs with the Brooklyn subway shooter. Not even joking.
