No sooner has the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial finished then we’re all set to become embroiled in the sordid details of another celebrity’s life after Kevin Spacey appeared in the dock today accused of four counts of sexual assault.

The 62 year old appeared at Westminster Magistrates court today accompanied by his legal team and two police officers to witness his formal plea hearing. The charges were read out to him – there were four relating to sexual assault and one of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent – but it’s understood that he didn’t make a plea today, despite strenuously denying the accusations in the past.
Spacey was granted unconditional bail by Deputy District Judge Tan Ikram and is now set to face trial for the charges on July 14th at Southwark Crown Court. Here’s a video of him refusing to say anything as he walked through the crowd outside the court:

Looks like we’re in for another week or so of gross revelations about the private life of a celebrity in just under a month, but these are likely to be much more horrific and grim than the ones we heard about Depp and Heard given the nature of the allegations. Everything that was said about Spacey five years ago made him sound like a major creep and abuser so I’m not really sure how he seems so happy and confident of beating the accusations from four different people. Guess we’ll find out in six weeks.
