Today we’re learning that Robert Downey Jr. decided to FaceTime his friend as soon as he heard the news. The story comes courtesy of Depp’s friend Josh Richman who was speaking at a recent charity event and decided to treat attendees to the following anecdote (courtesy of the New York Post):
(sorry about the crappy quality of the image below too, but it was the only one of both Downey and Depp together I could find)

Depp’s close friend Josh Richman revealed the FaceTime conversation with a group of Depp supporters during a charity live stream event for Children’s Hospital Los Angles. “John, thank God it’s over,” Downey Jr. told his old pal Depp over FaceTime.
The 59-year-old actor was “stoic” in a UK hotel room while his friends and staff cried and screamed around him when the verdict was announced. Even Jeff Beck flipped off the television screen, Richman explained.
Well that’s a nice story isn’t it, especially you’re a fan of both Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp, and I’m pretty sure if you like one of them then you’re probably like the other because they both have that everyman laid back cool guy thing going on don’t they? Not really sure if it’s really that much of a story, but everyone seems to be enjoying it all over the internet so there you go. Many, many more similar ‘anecdotes’ to come I’m sure.
For more of the same, here’s Amber Heard’s first televised interview since the verdict. Any guesses how that’s gonna go down?
