Even if you don’t watch ‘Love Island’, I’m sure that you will have heard that one of the main characters on the show this year is Michael Owen’s 19 year old daughter Gemma and that Michael Owen hasn’t exactly been thrilled about her participation whenever someone has brought it up. Sure, he’s trying to act cool but you can tell he’s secretly fuming that everyone is ripping him about it.

You kinda do have to feel for the guy because I doubt it’s that enjoyable watching your daughter act like an idiot/ho on national television and it probably isn’t that great to search Twitter to see what people are saying about her either. It’s not really that advisable for Owen to get into spats with those people on the internet either, but this is the curious step that he’s decided to take after he saw a football coach tweeting about how he couldn’t wait to see Gemma get smashed on the TV show.

Here’s what Owen said:

Yeah you can’t really blame Owen for calling the guy out and it’s funny that he immediately deleted his account once the tables were turned and it looked like he would be receiving abuse as well. People are saying that he should lose his job or at least be reprimanded in some way and I doubt that the fact that he’s deleted his account is gonna stop the internet police from sorting him out – you know what they’re like.

As for ‘Love Island’, a number of people have complained to Ofcom after Gemma Owen was seen kissing 27 year old Davide Sanclimenti. Typical stuff and probably not even the tip of the iceberg for what we’re gonna hear over the next few weeks about them all.
