The Johnny Depp/Amber Heard finally trial came to its conclusion last week with the jury mainly siding with Depp and forcing Heard to pay him a $15 million settlement.

Unfortunately for Heard, that amount exceeds her net value and she’s already come out and said that she’ll be appealing the decision but in the meantime a ‘helpful’ fan of hers decided to set up a GoFundMe asking for $1 million to help her pay the settlement. Here’s what the page description said:

I believe Amber, and social media protected the abuser. The judgment exceeds her net worth.
It’s so sad that he was able to get away with the abuse. The judgment furthers that abuse.
If you can please help her.
I suppose that sounds reasonable enough as I’m sure there are a few people out there who would probably side with Heard on this issue and want to help her out, but GoFundMe were quickly able to determine that the account had nothing to do with Heard or anyone on her team and it was shut down almost straight away. I’m not sure if that’s because of the whole concept of raising money for Amber Heard over this issue or because it was a legal problem that the page was claiming to be raising money for her, only it didn’t actually have anything to do with her.
I’m not entirely sure how stuff like that works but I’m fairly certain that you see fundraisers up on GoFundMe all the time for people that haven’t necessarily set them up themselves and you just have to trust them to get the money over once it’s been donated, so it seems like GoFundMe have just stopped it from existing because it’s Amber Heard. Gonna be a tough time for her as the judgment is going to leave her completely broke – most people will probably say that she deserves it though, especially after that verdict.
