The Amber Heard/Johnny Depp trial is back this week so we’re obviously not paying as much attention to the Wagatha Christie one as we were last week, but this one little tidbit coming out of today’s testimony from Wayne Rooney definitely deserves being brought to everyone’s attention.

Rooney was giving evidence for the first time in the trial and it was the first day that Jamie Vardy had actually bothered to turn up in court as well. He probably wasn’t too happy to hear Wayne talk about how he had to have a word with him about his wife’s behaviour at Euro 2016, which has been detailed in a series of tweets by the journalists covering the trial:
Rebekah Vardy has told the court that her husband Jamie insists he never had a chat with Wayne Rooney about her media activities causing trouble for the England squad.
Rooney says he “100%” had a chat: “If he wants to relay that back to his wife that is entirely his business.”

Vardy’s barrister is telling Rooney that, when Roy Hodgson told him to speak to Jamie Vardy about her Sun column, that the conversation never happened.
“I’m sat here under oath and I’m telling you 100 per cent that I spoke to Mr Vardy.”

Well who do you believe there? Former England captain and record goalscorer Wayne Rooney or Chat Shit Get Banged Jamie Vardy? Could be the case that the conversation happened but Vardy didn’t have the balls to talk to his wife about it, or it could be the case that the Vardys are just lying about it all.
At this point, I’m pretty certain that the former seems more likely here but who knows as I’m unsure if the Rooneys are going to be able to categorically prove that it was Vardy who leaked it to The Sun as there’s a lot of circumstantial evidence going around, so even though it’s likely true it might not be able to hold up in a court of law. We’ll see in a couple of days I guess but everything in this trial so far pretty much suggests that Vardy is the woman behind all this.
