Today is May The 4th, where a bunch of Star Wars geeks all over the planet unite to celebrate ‘Star Wars Day’ – you know, because ‘May The 4th be with you’ – but at least Disney have decided to celebrate by doing something worthwhile and releasing the first trailer to the new Obi Wan Kenobi series.

‘Obi Wan Kenobi’ reunites Star Wars prequel alumni Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christiansen as the titular character and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader respectively (come on that isn’t a spoiler, it’s been out for 20 years and everyone knew that was going to happen before they even watched the movie) and from the trailer it looks like pretty much how you would expect. Check it out below:

Yeah, I can’t really say that gave us many clues about the plot or who was going to be in it or anything that was going to happen really, more just that it’s more of the same involving massive spaceship fights, lightsaber battles, desert planets and what have you. I suppose the Darth Vader bit at the end is kind of cool but again, it’s not really anything that you wouldn’t expect from a trailer of this calibre.

In fairness though, we don’t have long to wait until we get to watch the real thing on May 27th. Hopefully this will be a good one.
