We’ve all heard the allegations flying around about Marilyn Manson over the last year or so, and with multiple women (at least 15) now accusing him of sexual assault, it’s hard to argue that the rock legend is anything but guilty.
The latest accusation comes from Westworld actress Evan Rachel Wood, who dated Manson from mid-2006 until early 2011. Wood shares her experiences in upcoming documentary Phoenix Rising (out March 2022), which screened last weekend at the Sundance Film Festival. She recalled that Manson’s “first crime” against her took place while filming the now-53-year-old rocker’s 2007 “Heart-Shaped Glasses” music video when she was 19.
It’s nothing like I thought it was going to be. We’re doing things that were not what was pitched to me. We had discussed a simulated sex scene, but once the cameras were rolling, he started penetrating me for real. I had never agreed to that. I’m a professional actress, I’ve been doing this my whole life; I’ve never been on a set that unprofessional in my life up until this day.
It was complete chaos. I did not feel safe. No one was looking after me. It was a really traumatizing experience filming the video. I didn’t know how to advocate for myself or know how to say no because I had been conditioned and trained to never talk back, to just soldier through.
Man, that sounds horrific. Wood said that afterward she “felt disgusting and that I had done something shameful, and I could tell that the crew was very uncomfortable and nobody knew what to do.”
I was coerced into a commercial sex act under false pretenses. That’s when the first crime was committed against me. I was essentially raped on-camera.
Manson quickly denied her accusations in a statement from his lawyer to E! News this week. He said the rocker (real name Brian Hugh Warner) “did not have sex with Evan on that set, and she knows that is the truth.”
Elsewhere in the documentary, Wood claims that Manson lived in a ‘Nazi House of Horrors’ that included a sign reading ‘Kill All Jews’ that he allegedly hung over their bed. Which is a bit weird, considering he is Jewish and all. He also allegedly carved the letter ‘M’ next to her vagina, scarring her for life. It was a tumultuous relationship, to say the least.
He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail.
This isn’t about revenge, or, ‘He’s a monster and he needs to be punished and destroyed.’ He’s already destroyed. That man is not a man anymore; he is gone.

Manson has also recently been hit with 3 lawsuits by some of his accusers, including his ex-girlfriend Ashley Morgan Smithline and Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco. Let’s hope justice is done not just for Manson’s alleged victims but also to prove to other predators that there’s no more getting away with this sort of thing just because you’re rich, famous and powerful.
