I’ll admit when I first saw this headline I thought another comedian had been ‘cancelled’ because people can’t take a joke, but after reading the joke in question, I’m not sure how Andrew Lawrence didn’t see this outcome coming.

Even after the disgusting racist abuse that Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho have been subjected to following the Euro 2020 final, Andrew thought it would be a good idea to Tweet this…
I mean the fact he caught so much flak for the initial Tweet and then doubled down instead of deleting it and apologising (the merits of which would have been debatable) is just mind-blowing. It’s one thing for low IQ racist morons to spout their foul shite but for a successful stand-up comedian, who you’d think is capable of quick wit and critical thinking, to make a ‘joke’ that so clearly misses the national mood is just unbelievable. If you know a joke is going to be that offensive, you better make sure it’s funny enough to save your skin. Not even close, in this instance.
Well anyway, Andrew has since been dropped by his agent and all his upcoming gigs have been cancelled…

Not a great day at the office for Andrew Lawrence. The question is where does he go from here? My guess is he’ll pop up somewhere complaining about being a victim of cancel culture. I hate cancel culture as much as the next person, but on this occasion, it’s almost like the guy was begging for it. There was never going to be any other outcome than destroying his own career after Tweeting shite like that. Like I said, pretty amazing he didn’t see it coming.
At least there’s still YouTube… for now.
For the time Seann Walsh was ‘cancelled’ for chokeslamming his girlfriend onto the bed on camera, click HERE. Now that was a bit harsh, wasn’t it?
