The other week, Prince Harry was interviewed on the ‘Late, Late Show’ with James Corden, and the two of them spent the day drinking tea on top of a tour bus, visiting the Fresh Prince of Bel Air house (get it? because Harry is a prince), and doing an obstacle course.

Well apparently Oprah Winfrey is ‘livid’ about the surprise interview, because it was broadcast before her highly-anticipated recorded interview with Harry & Meghan Markle, which is set to air this Sunday.

Oprah is said to be unhappy with how candid Prince Harry was during his interview with Corden, opening up about the press ‘destroying’ his mental health, and describing how he and Meghan were faced with a ‘really difficult environment’ when they decided to quit as working royals.

Oprah, 67, now reckons her two-hour special with Harry & Meghan isn’t the exclusive that it should have been.

Speaking about the clash, the i Paper’s Late Editor Benjamin Butterworth said:

I think they were desperate to get their story out there.

Anyone that saw James Corden and Prince Harry on Friday, first of all, Oprah must have been livid that he’d already given the line of why he quit the Royals to James Corden so she’s not got that as an exclusive.

He suggested this would have dented Oprah’s budget:

So she’s wasted a couple of million there but I just find it utterly extraordinary how a couple that are so rich and have had such a high position in life as the Duke and Duchess can manage to make themselves appear so cheap.

Ooh, bit bitchy there Ben.

In any case, Harry and Meghan have bigger issues to contend with as it pertains to the Oprah Winfrey interview this Sunday. They are under increasing pressure to have either CBS or Oprah delay the airing of the interview while Prince Philip, 99, is in hospital.

The Duke of Edingburgh was admitted to King Edward VII’s hospital in central London last month on what Buckingham Palace said was a precautionary basis, but this week was transferred to specialist cardiac hospital St. Bartholomew’s to be treated for an ‘infection’.

Royal biographers say that airing the interview this weekend could set off a ‘diplomatic bomb’, with one saying it would be ‘heartless, thoughtless and supremely selfish’ to go ahead with it’.

CBS aren’t having any of it though, as they’ve already sold millions of dollars worth of advertising for the ‘primetime’ special and rescheduling the interview would be too costly. ITV also reportedly spent £1 million on the rights to air the interview this Sunday. Something tells me there’ll be lots to talk about re Harry & Meghan and this interview in the coming weeks.
