There’s been a fair amount of hype in the last couple of months about Mike Tyson’s in-ring return where he’ll be facing Roy Jone Jr in an exhibition fight and what better way for the boxing legend to crank this up even more than by releasing an EDM banger to celebrate the fact?

OK, I’m sure there are a whole bunch of ways that he probably could have hyped this up a bit more, but this is the way Tyson has chosen to promote the fight by teaming up with Tiki Lau for the song, which will also serve as his ring walk music for the fight. It also comes accompanied by a really stupid animated video that sees Mike fighting sharks and sea monsters in his boxing attire, as well as drinking a couple of cocktails out of a coconut.
It’s a very stupid song, but I’m not gonna lie it’s also kinda cool. Take a look at the video below and also read the story of how it came about underneath that:
Our multi-platinum Grammy-winning and legendary Tiki Lau team member Damon Elliott was in the studio with Mike Tyson and had him record the vocals then sent them over to us. Damon is like the DJ Khaled of our group. They knew we were ready to deliver, and we did. You can’t help but get super pumped up when listening to this song.
In the process of making this song, every day we would wake up and think, “What would Mike Tyson do?” We knew that we needed to make a song that was so dope, Mike Tyson would wanna knock someone out to it. We are humbled to be the ones behind his walkout song for his official comeback fight on November 28th, a part of sports history.
Yeah, I can just see a bunch of people chanting ‘I’m Mike Tyson’ at wherever kids go to dance to EDM music these days. ‘Lend me your ears or I’ll eat them all’ is a bit on the nose though but I suppose enough time has passed now that we can just laugh about Tyson biting Evander Holyfield’s ear clean off back in the day? Err?
