However you look at it, 2020 has been a pretty useless year as for almost all of us most of it has been spent locked in our houses/flat on Zoom quizzes or what have you – nobody really wants to live that way do they? – but maybe the fact that if your birthday happened during the lockdown you’re able to get free Greggs might help to ease the situation.

Although the idea of free Greggs is appealing to me, the fact that it’s only £1 of credit isn’t really doing that much for me, but I suppose considering all you have to do is download an app to get it might mean that it’s worth checking out. The thing is that even at Greggs you can’t actually get that much for £1 so you’re gonna be topping it up if you want to get the good stuff like a vegan sausage roll or a chicken bake. Deals aren’t quite so good when they’re not completely free and you have to pay towards some of it, are they?

The one saving grace is that if you do download the Greggs app then you will get offered a free bake every year on your birthday apparently, so you have that to look forward to as well. The original £1 offer can also be redeemed right up until the end of 2020, so you might as well download it and apply it and have it there for when you’re feeling peckish and passing a Greggs. There’s a possibility that might happen before the end of the year, although if a second wave does hit then you might have wasted your time. Is that a risk you’re willing to take?
For more Greggs, find out when the festive bake is scheduled to hit stores this year. It’s ridiculously early.
