I’m fairly sure that you probably would have seen the trailer to ‘The Batman’ over the weekend as it pretty much sent the internet into meltdown when it was released at some point between Saturday night and Sunday morning, with most people thinking that it perfectly blended the horror and gothic elements that the franchise had always been crying out for.

I thought it was a bit meh to be honest – it was kinda weird how Batman was just hanging out with the detectives at the start, the stunts looked a bit crap, bit dumb how tough Batman seemed to be – but obviously I’ll probably still end up going to see it. Anyway, there’s one point where Batman receives a coded note from The Riddler in the trailer and someone was so obsessed with the trailer that he spent all weekend trying to decipher it.

Here’s what he came up with:

I first analyzed the different symbols and found the ones that were reoccurring throughout the code. From here, I had two thought processes. I had a feeling that The Riddler may use the word “Batman” so I solved the first part as Batman.

It was a failed attempt to solve the code. I realized that the first phrase had 6 letters and symbols that were in the same position as the “A” in “Batman”, so I made a bold assumption that that was the first word. I then used the solved symbols to try to figure out the other one

I can’t say exactly what the symbols come from. I used a substitution method that didn’t require a preexisting cipher

Well there you have it? Not sure if it’s correct but I guess ‘he lies still’ makes sense in the context of the question and his methodology looks fairly meticulous so maybe we can give it to him? Not really sure what use that is to anyone without the context of the rest of the movie.
