I’ve never disliked Shia LaBeouf. In fact, being a decent actor and pretty damn funny, there have been many reasons to admire him. For a start he’s hooked up with co-stars Megan Fox, Isabel Lucas and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, all completely talentless sure but hot as hell. Even blatantly boasting about his fling with Megan Fox while she was technically taken was understandable. After all, who wouldn’t want to announce that to the world…the man can be forgiven. His controversial remarks on the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull film which resulted in Harrison Ford calling him a ‘fvcking idiot’ didn’t phase me either. Ford is a miserable c**t anyway and that film did kind of suck. Besides, to me he has always been the funny kid from Even Stevens.

Lately though, it’s more a case of laughing at him than with him. In the video for Sigur Rós’ “Fjögur Píanó, we witness LaBeouf act out a ‘struggle between addiction and abuse’.

What starts off looking like two naked people with a butterfly fetish soon escalates into scenes of domestic violence shown through interpretive dance. The magic lollipops they suck throughout the video are obviously a symbol of some addiction but the case of the fvck load of framed butterflies is lost on me. Unless the girl is really into animal rights, I can’t quite imagine getting so upset over some dead butterflies. By the time the actors were trapped in an underwater car having been kidnapped by two members of the village people, I found it hard to take LaBeouf seriously.

Where’s the guy that’s been arrested numerous times and helped saved the world from the Decepticons? This new hipster Shia LaBeouf wouldn’t know how to deal with that shit. The fully naked actor who resembles a junky tramp in the video is now signalling an obvious ‘fvck you’ to the mainstream.

Shia has pushed the boundary of controversy before by collaborating with Marilyn Manson for his ‘Born Villain’ album promo video. The result was pretty dark and twisted with a kind of smut-gore theme and clips that could be mistaken for scenes from the Hostel movies. I’m not quite sure how the collaboration came about, either he wanted to prove his directing credentials by shocking the viewer or this kid is just seriously dark. You can check this video out below. It’s screwed up.

About the process of directing the video he said:

‘Artistically your mind works at its highest frequency when paranoid. It allows you to explore every avenue and possibility of your situation at high speeds with total clarity’

It sounds like someone’s been hitting the bud hard.

This isn’t the first time that LaBeouf has gone all philosophical on our asses either. The actor recently published some graphic novels which he described as ‘an illustrated journey into my thoughts’. With the titles ‘Let’s Fvcking Party’, ‘Cyclical’ and ‘Stale N Mate’ it sounded like his mind would be a fun place to be. But with each sketch being accompanied by some dodgy commentary and philosophical meanings, it seems the inner thoughts of Shia Labeouf are deep and complex, or at least that’s what he wants us to think.

The novel ‘Cyclical’ is basically a guy picking up a waitress at a bowling alley and fvcking her in a hotel. No wonder LaBeouf has scored so many women with lines like ‘he shot his arrow through the moon’. He has such a way with words…Here’s a sketch from his graphic novel depicting said act. It looks like something Wes from Let’s Wrestle might draw, so I guess he’s got the write kind of inspiration. It’s kind of left me wishing that Charles Bronson would kill all hipsters again though.
