There are a lot of activities you can spend your time doing whilst shut away in lockdown, but I don’t think I ever would have considered trying to discover how many rubber bands wrapped around a watermelon it would take for the whole thing to explode.

This is how one YouTube user named Dakidd Hilarious has chosen use his time though and thankfully he made a video of it to share the glorious results. Needless to say, it’s about as stupid as you would imagine it to be and is well worth watching.

Probably way more tense and more of a payoff if you watch this from the start, but it’s fairly easy to skip forward to the money shot if you don’t want to waste your time watching a guy putting rubber bands over a watermelon for ten minutes plus:

Damn. I don’t think anyone expected it to explode with such force that it literally propelled the guy off his chair, but I guess at least now we know that’s the trouble you can get into when putting loads of rubber bands around a watermelon. Thank God we were gifted with this time to make these scientific advances.
