Great news to kick off your week – Tupac Shakur is alive! The bad news is that he’s just been arrested for meth possession and attacking police officers with a knife in Johnson City, Tennessee.

According to the New York Post, police officers were trying to arrest Shakur, 40, on a warrant when he “attempted to turn towards [them] with a knife in his hand before being taken to the ground.”
A syringe and multiple baggies of methamphetamine were found on him, just to make things even worse.
He was held on $18,000 bond on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, meth possession and unlawful drug paraphernalia and is set to appear in court today.
All jokes aside, I wonder how this white guy in Tennessee ended up with the name Tupac Amaru Shakur (yup he even has the middle name). Were his parents massive Tupac fans? Did he change his name when he turned 18? Considering he’s 40 now he would have been in his late teens when Tupac died in 1996 – the perfect age to be a prime Tupac fan really.
I guess he was listening to the All Eyez On Me album one day and thought ‘fuck it, I’ll be Tupac too’? Just too bad he’s turned out to be a tragic meth head rather than the second coming of one of the best rappers ever.
