Remember Katy Perry’s 2013 song ‘Dark Horse’? It was quite the smash hit bringing in about $31 million (£25 million) for record label Capitol Records, while Katy herself earned about $3.2 million (£2.6 million) off the track.

Well she’s now been ordered to pay a sizeable chunk of that to Christian rapper ‘Flame’ (Marcus Gray) after being found guilty this week of completely ripping off the beat from his 2008 track ‘Joyful Noise’, as per Pitchfork.

Listen to both tracks below and see what you think:

No denying the similarities there.

The part that this religious rapper Flame is most annoyed about though is that Dark Horse ‘tarnished’ his own song’s reputation due to its allusions to ‘witchcraft’. Flame claims it is now ‘irreparably tarnished by its association with the witchcraft, paganism, black magic and Illuminati imagery evoked by the same music in Dark Horse’.

Whatever dude, just be happy you’ve got a couple extra mill in the bank thanks to this lawsuit finally wrapping up (he filed the lawsuit in 2014). Well you’d hope so – apparently Katy Perry’s lawyer said she would be appealing decision. Why?! It’s a blatant rip off.
