There’s only two weeks of Game Of Thrones left and everyone knew that there was going to be a huge hole in HBO’s scheduling following its demise, but it looks like they’re not going to skip a beat if this trailer to their new adaptation of Watchmen is anything to go by.

Watchmen is obviously a supremely famous comic book that was turned into a movie by Zakk Snyder back in the early 00s that received decidedly mixed reviews (for what it’s worth I thought Snyder did a pretty good job of it) but this adaptation looks like it’s going to be a bit different to that. Here’s the trailer and a plot summary:
Set in an alternate history where ‘superheroes’ are treated as outlaws, this drama series from executive producer Damon Lindelof embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own.
Looks freaking awesome doesn’t it? In case you missed them in the trailer, the new Watchmen is going to star Regina King, Don Johnson, Jeremy Irons, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Louis Gossett Jr., Tom Mison, and Sara Vickers and it’s set to premiere in Autumn 2019. Probably won’t even remember Game Of Thrones by the end of the year by the looks of things.
