Every time you hear about a plane being forced into an emergency landing or having its flight path diverted, it’s normally because of some major situation like a hijacking or a fuel leak or something. Not because of something completely ridiculous like a woman leaving her baby in the airport.

This is amazingly what recently happened on a flight from Jeddah to Kuala Lumpur airport. You can see the video below where the bewildered pilots are asking if they can return to King Abdul Aziz International Airport after the mother has informed them that she left her baby in the departure lounge.
You can’t really make something like that up but I’m assuming as the video is of a legitimate plane radio that you’ve gotta believe it really? Check it out and see what you think:

I guess that’s legit then? Obviously most of us can’t really understand what their conversation was about, but I’ve been reliably informed that the conversation goes a little something like this:
‘May God be with us. Can we come back?
This flight is requesting to come back. A passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing.
I told you, a passenger has left her baby in the terminal and she is refusing to continue the flight.’
‘Okay, head back to the gate. This is totally a new one for us!’
I mean is she a poor thing really if she’s leaving her baby in the waiting area? It usually takes about half an hour or something from the moment you get onto the plane until it takes off, so how the hell did she not realise that her baby wasn’t on the flight?
I guess maybe it was some kind of Home Alone style situation but even that kinda beggars belief. Just bad parenting if you ask me, but I suppose this is the first time that this has ever happened so it’s not like it’s something that happens very often at least. Still pretty unacceptable though.
For more of the same, check out this flight that was forced to make an emergency landing because a passenger wouldn’t stop farting. Jokes.
