Elon Musk is well known as the real life Tony Stark, constantly pushing boundaries in technology and science, but he’s never been too vocal about what goes on in his personal life in the past, which is why it’s surprising to find out who he’s currently dating.

Turns out that it’s alt pop sensation Grimes. Yep, you probably didn’t expect those two to end up together, but the story of how they ended up dating completely and utterly pretty geeky and kinda explains why these two characters that seemingly have nothing in common have ended up bumping uglies:

Thought experiment Roko’s Basilisk considers the hypothesis of a future where AI lords over the world and could punish those who did not help it into existence.
His joke was to merge this thought experiment with a pun using ‘Rococo’, referring to the ornate French 18th Century Baroque style, perhaps pointing out that both concepts are complex, too extreme and ridiculous.
As it turns out, Grimes had already made the joke in her video for “Flesh Without Blood” which featured a character named Rococo Basilisk. [This character] is doomed to be eternally tortured by an artificial intelligence, but she’s also kind of like Marie Antoinette.
Yeah looks like the pair of them are made for each other if both of them find something like that funny. Apparently after Musk heard about this, he reached out to Grimes about a month ago and the two of them have been dating ever since and went public at last night’s Met Gala.
