Last year everyone was pretty pumped about the fact that everyone’s favourite bargain food store Aldi was going to be selling surprisingly high quality 16oz steak for just £4.99. The ‘Big Daddy’ became the stuff of legend even more so when it stopped being sold, presumably because Aldi couldn’t satisfy demand for such an awesome deal.

Thankfully though, Aldi have listened to their customers and decided to bring back the Big Daddy Steak this week. The bad news though is that it’s going to be listed as a ‘specialbuy’ which means that stock is limited and they’ll only be delivered to certain stores on this Thursday, January 18th.
There’s unfortunately no way of figuring that out beforehand either, so you’ll just have to keep your fingers crossed and hope that your nearest shop is one of the lucky ones. And get there early as well because it’s bound to fly off the shelves given the level of interest in it.
Here’s what Aldi’s Tony Baines about it:

This premium British rump steak is an example of Aldi’s commitment to offering quality, locally-sourced products at amazing low prices, once again allowing customers to make substantial savings on luxury products without compromise.
The rump is made up of several different muscles from the rear. It’s a lean steak with a great mix of texture and rich flavours.
It has the benefits of a fillet but with more flavour. It’s best thick-cut and cooked over a very high heat, with a generous resting time up to 10 minutes.
As if it didn’t already look awesome, they just add in that description as well. Start queuing outside your local Aldi now if you want a chance to purchase one.
For more Aldi, check out one of the world’s best gins for sale there too – and it’s only £10. Gotta love Aldi.
