Portaloos have to be one of the worst parts of going to a music festival – the queues are long, the toilets are smelly and there is no sink to properly wash your hands in. It stinks, basically.

However, some music fans over at the Sziget Festival in Budapest, which runs from August 9th – 15th, managed to transform the portaloo experience by turning them into a passageway for a secret rave. Some festival goers were lucky enough to experience the secret room hidden behind one of the doors to the portable toilets. This led to a tiny stage where DJs were found spinning tracks every night to a small but lively crowd.
Apparently this event was launched by the Art of Freedom project – a competition held by the festival every year. Hopefully this mini-rave experience will inspire a few more festivals to do the same (and maybe get some better DJs than the ones in the video above while they’re at it).
