The Godfather has been voted the greatest film of all time, beating in the poll other movies such as Star Wars, Pulp Fiction and Jaws.

The vote was held by movie publication Empire magazine, who asked the public to vote for their top flick.
In addition to The Godfather taking first place, the second installment of the film came in at number 9. Empire editor Terri White said:
It’s fantastic to see The Godfather continue to elicit such affection from movie lovers 45 years after release.

The poll actually ranked the top 100 movies of all time, the full list of which will be published in this month’s edition of the magazine. For a sneak preview, here is the top 10 from the list:
1. The Godfather
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. The Dark Knight
4. The Shawshank Redemption
5. Pulp Fiction
6. Goodfellas
7. Raiders Of The Lost Ark
8. Jaws
9. Star Wars

I’m obviously totally biased, but I don’t think that any Lord of the Rings movies deserve to be in the top ten. But that’s just me and I guess there are many factors that constitute a ‘great’ movie, including the acting, budget, worldwide success etc.
Those are all great films, but I’m a lover of horror and psychological thrillers. If you’re with me, then you’ll appreciate this list of the top five films on incest. It’ll make your skin crawl.
