Masturbation is pretty much a part of everyone’s life, regardless of whether or not you’re in a long term relationship – it’s just how it goes.

Of course, there’s always the question of just who you’re actually going to masturbate over when you get down to the act, and if you’ve been feeling guilty that it isn’t usually over your partner then I wouldn’t worry about it because it doesn’t look like anyone else is either. Sex toy retailer Lovehoney asked 4,500 Brits about their masturbation habits and found out that 58% of men thought about a past sexual partner and so did 48% of women.
I’m not really that surprised about that and you shouldn’t feel bad about it either according to sex expert, Tracey Cox who said the following:
Fantasies allow monogamous couples to get all the pleasure of ‘new’ sex without the pain of broken hearts.
Most people have the odd struggle balancing the pros of monogamy (history, soul mate connection, love, comfort, kids, support) with the cons (having to say no to temptation because just because you’re in love doesn’t mean you don’t find others attractive).
A rich fantasy life can offer the solution to keeping everyone happy.

Fair enough I suppose – you don’t need to feel bad about about ‘cheating’ on your partner when you jerk off over someone else because everyone does it. Great news for everyone involved, although I suppose stuff like that has the potential to go south if revealed. Each to their own I suppose.
