After the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant was destroyed by the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami, many parts of the area were evacuated as the radiation levels posed a threat to local residents.
As a result, many of the exclusion zones have been left as abandoned ghost towns. Shops are still filled with products, houses are filled with furniture. These places remain frozen in that devastating moment in time.
