The existence of alien lifeforms has always been a mystery to the average human, but one man who is steadfastly convinced of it and is willing to do anything to get to the bottom of it is former Blink 182 frontman Tom DeLonge.

DeLonge was supposedly kicked out of Blink 182 because their touring commitments wouldn’t let him pursue his obsession with the truth, and to be fair to the guy he has actually followed through with this quest with the announcement that he’s going to be publishing a non fiction book on the subject entitled Sekret Machines: Gods. The press release describes it as ‘an eye-opening investigative journey to the heart of the UFO phenomenon that transcends the speculation of journalists, historians and others whose conclusions are often either misinformed or only tease around the edges’. Certainly sounds like something Tom would have to concentrate all his time on rather than playing in a pop punk band, so fair enough I suppose.
The book is co authored with an occult expert named Peter Levenda, who had this to say about it all:
Sekret Machines: Gods is the opening salvo on the complacency of human institutions where the UFO Phenomenon is concerned. It’s designed to shake people up, to make them question their assumptions.
I’m sure it will definitely have that effect. DeLonge on the other hand had an even more baffling statement about the tome:

It sounds crazy. But it’s because I can speak to a very specific audience. I earned their trust. I knew my material.
No doubt he played classic Blink 182 track ‘Aliens Exist’ them in order to gain this trust. Whatever you say about DeLonge, this book is sure to at least be interesting, I’m just doubtful whether it will be the bestseller/revolutionary text he’s hoping it will be though.
Here’s hoping the guy finds some peace in his obsession with aliens though, although Blink 182 seem to have truly moved on without him, and are a lot better for it. If you don’t believe me, check out their awful performance from Reading a couple of years ago. Terrible.
