The horror western seems like a fairly new genre of movie, combining two of the best loved pulp genres into a whole new beast, and new movie ‘Brimstone’ seems like it’s going to elevate it even further after the success of ‘Bone Tomahawk’ last year.

‘Brimstone’ tells the story of a mute wife and mother played by Dakota Fanning who is pursued by a wrathful priest played by Guy Pearce for reasons unknown. The trailer looks especially creepy and full of dread and you can see that the conflict between the two isn’t really going to take any prisoners:
Yeah, I don’t know what is up with Guy Pearce’s voice either, but that trailer definitely made me stand up and take notice this morning, especially when they make Dakota Fanning wear that Mad Max esque mask all over her face. Looks like this is going to be a good one.
No idea when this will be released but early reviews have said that it features some of the most graphic and disturbingly violent scenes that they’ve ever witnessed, so you can bet that the feeling of dread present in the trailer is going to pay off when we see the actual movie. Can’t wait.
