I’m sure that most people were fairly sceptical about whether the sequel to ‘Blade Runner’ was actually going to be any good. But if this trailer is anything to go by, perhaps there is a glimmer of hope that it might not be completely ruined.

Of course, it doesn’t really give much away as it’s only the first teaser and it’s ten months until the movie will actually be released, but it’s still a good start, even if nothing really happens in it. It certainly captures the bleak neon metropolis made famous in the first movie though, and a new synopsis that also came with the trailer gives us some more clues about what it’s going to involve:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
Sounds like it’s kinda gonna be like the new ‘Star Wars’, with a new character searching for the hero of the old movie to fill him in on just what’s been going on in the past 30 years. Let’s hope Harrison Ford shows up before the last scene in this one. I’m fairly confident it’s going to end up being pretty good though on the basis of this and the people who are involved in it. Here’s hoping.
