For the past five years FIFA has presented one lucky player with the Ferenc Puskas award, celebrating the best goal of the year.

It’s always an exciting time when the nominations come out because you normally see a bunch of goals that you haven’t seen before that are absolutely mental, because they pick goals from all over the world in a variety of leagues. This year is no exception, and you can check out the selection below:

Yeah not really sure why Hal Robson Kanu was in there – I mean it was completely sick but nowhere near as good as some of the other ones – but there is an absolutely mad bunch of goals right there isn’t there?

Not sure who I would say had the honour of being the best one, but that first free kick is absolutely outrageous and I’ve never seen anything like it before. That woman skinning everyone is mightily impressive too, but I don’t think they’re gonna let a woman win this award anytime soon unfortunately, Saul’s goal was pretty dope too, I think if I had to pick one though it would probably be Mario Gaspar’s – that’s completely outrageous from the man.
