A man named Himmet Akturk has admitted to raping and killing a four-year-old girl in his hometown in Turkey. And as if that wasn’t shocking enough, he confessed his crimes during a live TV show that set out to discover where the young girl had disappeared to.

Akturk had agreed to appear on a Turkish TV show that specialises in investigating family dramas. For this particular episode they were examining the disappearance of four-year-old Irmak Kupal who went missing while playing outside her home in the Alasehir district of western Turkey’s Manisa Province.

Celebrity presenter Muge Anli put the pressure on Akturk throughout the show, as he was a key suspect, before he finally broke down and admitted to being responsible for her death. What a pathetic and sick man.

He was arrested there and then by the police and taken into questioning where he made a full confession. Akturk reportedly raped the girl before strangling her and burying the body close by in a public bin. However, when he realised the dumpster had not been emptied the next day, he then took the body to a nearby vineyard.

The TV show footage was used as part of his court case, although a further hearing will be held to determine his prison sentence. Hopefully he gets life for his despicable crimes.

What an absolute shocker that must’ve been for the TV production team. Obviously they specialise in crime and drama, but it’s not often that you get a paedophile murderer actually confessing on screen. I doubt even Akturk himself expected it – he must have just buckled under the pressure.
