The popularity of UFC and MMA has skyrocketed over the past couple of years, but I never thought we would get to the level where you actively see 8-year-old boys fighting each other on television.

Over in Chechnya though, they don’t give a fuck and are happy to broadcast little kids kicking the absolute shit out of each other on their national television stations. You can see highlights from the fight on the video below, which was brought to the attention of the world by MMA legend Fedor Emilianenko, who was absolutely disgusted by it:
What happened at the tournament in Grozny is unacceptable and, moreover, cannot be justified.
There were little ones, eight-years-old, punching each other in front of happy adults.
Is it really so important for you to organise a spectacle at the cost of children’s health?
It’s incomprehensible to me that state TV showed children’s fights.

Geez that was brutal and it seems like the kid with the black hair is way better at fighting then the kid with the blonde hair so it’s not even really a fair fight? It’s cool that they all posed together with the champion at the end of the fight which suggests they’re still buds, even if it is quite frankly bizarre.
In all seriousness though, I’m down with what Emilianenko said – watching 8-year-old kids fight is kinda similar to watching cocks fight or something because it’s completely irresponsible to watch a bunch of underdeveloped little kids beat the crap out of each other for fun. It’s pretty shocking/weird that so many people even thought it was a great idea in the first place.
I suppose this is Chechnya though and when you actually get people dressing up in suits of armour and fighting each other over there, I guess anything goes.
