Americans are well known for being completely stupid, but that stupidity has finally been measured today thanks to a survey from VoucherCloud that was published in the LA Times. The survey discovered some absolutely ridiculous facts about the transient population.

VoucherCloud claim that 2,392 people ages 18 and over were given both tech and non-tech terms and were asked to choose from three possible definitions. Here are some of the results they came up with:
23% thought an “MP3” was a “Star Wars” robot. It is actually an audio file.
18% identified “Blu-ray” as a marine animal. It is a disc format typically used to store high-definition videos.
15% said they believed “software” is comfortable clothing. Software is a general term for computer programs.
12% said “USB” is the acronym for a European country. In fact, USB is a type of connector.
11% think HTML is actually a sexually transmitted disease.
Well well well. Do these guys live in the middle of the woods or something? I mean I can maybe forgive the HTML mistake (although that is very stupid), but how the hell can so many people not know what a fucking MP3 is? Surely everyone listens to one at least once a week? Are these guys just refusing to get into the digital age and rocking old vinyl players still? And how can you think software is comfortable clothing, surely that’s the stupidest slang term ever? And how have you never installed any software FFS?

Honestly where the fuck did they find these people and what planet are they on? Kinda thinking VoucherCloud might have rigged the results by only asking people who live on their own in the middle of nowhere in huts, living off the land. In any case, maybe Americans aren’t stupid but it certainly seems they’re kinda ignorant judging from this, or at least all of them aren’t exactly keeping up with the Joneses. Get with it America.
For more stupid Americans, check out this redneck with a shotgun accidentally shooting a hole in the roof of his own truck. Idiot.
