An investigation has been launched by the Ministry of Defence after a Queen’s guard was filmed snorting a line of white powder (I think we all know what that is) off a ceremonial sword inside St James’ Palace.

Coldstream Guards’ Major James Coleby was caught huffing the gear during his duty last week. In the footage, a man can be heard asking:

How much? Two inches? You want two inches of that? If you get rid of that I’ll be mightily impressed.

He then bends over while another woman shouts:

No, don’t do it for the love of God.

The picture is pretty hazy, but it’s meant to be Coleby bending over to snort the line:

Coleby used to serve as a veteran in Iraq and Afghanistan and Colonel Richard Kemp, who led the troops in Afghanistan, said that the footage is a bad look for the army:

This behaviour is both highly worrying and acutely embarrassing for the British Army. Officers are there to set an example.

As said, an investigation is underway, although knowing how the justice system works, this will probably just get brushed under the carpet like the rest of them do. And Coleby will most likely continue to snort gear off of ceremonial weaponry – although maybe a little cautiously next time.

Speaking of that, I wonder what happened to the Catholic priest who was caught taking coke in a house full of Nazi memorabilia?
