A debate has been sparked recently over whether Nigel Farage is applying for German citizenship after he was spotted queuing at the German Embassy.

People online are saying that the former Ukip leader and Europsceptic Brexit campaigner could possibly be applying for dual citizenship after a girl called Leonie White spotted him in the embassy building:

Obviously we don’t know for sure whether this is true or not, although Farage has since refused to deny claims that he was seeking German citizenship, instead replying “none of your business” before hanging up the phone. Touchy subject, clearly.

Sources who are in favour of the far right squad have also suggested that it might be in conjunction with the dual-nationality of his children, as his wife is German.

But maybe this is all true and Farage is looking for a way to get out of the country before Brexit properly hits in a few years. He did stand down from his leadership once the results of the referendum came through in his favour, after all. AND he admitted that he didn’t have a clue what was going to happen if the UK did leave the EU. Maybe he realises just what a mistake he has made and he can’t be arsed to deal with the aftermath. We’ll just have to wait and see.
