The cast of the Ghostbusters reboot will have developed some pretty thick skin over the last few months, oweing to the fact the movie was universally hated before it even came out.

For one of the girls, Leslie Jones, however – the Internet trolls proved to be a bit too much this week.
I reckon the final straw came when one troll Photoshopped her Twitter handle on a homophobic Tweet:
As you can see, instead of ignoring the comment, Leslie Jones ReTweeted it (so as to dispute she wrote it) and eventually went into full-on Twitter meltdown mode:

Spinach? What?!
It does seem strange to imagine a Hollywood superstar sitting at her laptop, losing the plot over what some trolls are saying on Twitter. If you go on Leslie Jones’ Twitter now you’ll see hundred of Tweets of her just losing her shit over all this.
For some reason she keeps on posting and ReTweeting all the abuse she’s getting, so the trolls naturally keep sending it:

Really horrible shit like that. Obviously no one deserves that kind of abuse and harassment but at the same time, come on. Is this Leslie Jones’s first day on the internet? Everyone knows that the internet’s a ruthless place. Some of the biggest arseholes in the world are on the internet getting away with being racists, homophobes and all the rest of it on a daily basis. One of the deals you make when you became a famous movie star and join Twitter is that strangers are going to be mean to you sometimes. That’s just life.
Although having said that, it seems Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey wants to have a word:
Hi Leslie, following, please DM me when you have a moment

Maybe Leslie Jones is onto something here.
