Evangelical Christian magazine ‘Christianity Today’ has apologised for publishing a personal ad by a father looking for a man for his virgin daughter — without her even knowing about it.

Creepier still, it was posted in the jobs section of the magazine.

Christianity Today admitted they only realised when it was too late to pull the ad from print, and accepted it was “demeaning” and in “bad taste”.

However the daughter in question, Rachel Stewart, says she isn’t angry despite having no clue anout the ad, as she reckons her dad was only encouraging single men to “seek the kingdom of God”.

Christianity Today’s editor Mark Galli wrote:

We have taken a hard look at our ad review process, made some changes, and we can assure our readers that no ad like this will appear again.

Definitely not a good look for Christianity today. I’m not sure what their business plan is really as far as how they want Christiniaty to come across, but clearly their readers are the sort of people who seek printed adverts (what is this — 1995?) to flog their daughters.

Even more shocking is the idea that there are dudes in their 20s reading Christianity Today who would even respond to that ad. Probably the same kind of dude whose mum would write him a masturbation guide called ‘The Happy Handshake’.
