Phoenix Jones has taken it upon himself to protect the streets of Washington, in the form of a Kick Ass superhero. Dressed in the full outfit, Phoenix also protects himself with a bulletproof vest and comes equipped with a taser, mace and tear gas. What’s more there are at least nine other super heroes patrolling the streets with him, including; Thorn, Buster Doe, Green Reaper, Gemini, No Name, Catastrophe, Thunder 88 and Penelope. Things get even crazier with the fact that there are two more super heroes on the streets who have been publicly disowned by the group who say they are not confirmed members of their “Rain City Superhero Movement”.
Phoenix has been operating for more than nine months now and claims to have been stabbed and had several guns pulled on him. In an interview with a local news channel he said: “When I walk into a neighbourhood, criminals leave because they see the suit. I symbolise that the average person doesn’t have to walk around and see bad things and do nothing.” – what a guy.
He goes on to say: “I don’t condone people walking around on the street with masks. Everyone on my team either has a military background or a mixed martial arts background, and we’re well aware of what it costs to do what we do.”
I’m really not sure what to make of this and whether to believe it or if there’s just another Kick Ass film waiting around the corner but still, it’s pretty cool.
