A California driver was lucky to escape with his life after his car went off the road and over the cliffs of the mountains outside Los Angeles.

James Shaw Jr. lost control of his car coming out of a tunnel on the Angeles Crest Highway a year ago, and the footage is now going viral after he posted the dashcam video on YouTube.
James says:
To put it simply, I was distracted at the one moment that required 110% focus on an unfamiliar road.
It happened so fast all I can remember is everything crashing and spinning. I was confident I was going to land upside down and get crushed. I was on the world’s worst roller coaster that could only end with death, or so I thought.
As luck would have it, he landed on part of a drainage pipe that helped the car from dropping further down the hill, which would have almost certainly resulted in death.

That is some top 5 worst fears shit. Where the hell are the barriers on that road anyway? I remember driving though certain parts of Europe where it was the same thing — long, winding cliff-side roads with no barriers in sight. Focus on 100% because all I could think about was accidentally getting too close to the edge and skidding off the damn mountain.
P.S. Lol at him going “oh no” as he rolls down the cliff to near-certain death. I’m guessing that was the moment he actually shat his pants.
