How do you raise awareness about STDs and have a 5000 person dildo war at the same time? Easy, you organise an event involving both of them.

The dildo war went down in Union Square, New York City over the weekend and Elite Daily were there to both film the run up to it and the trials and tribulations the organisers faced, as well as the event itself. It was absolute carnage and gets pretty ridiculous as you might expect from an event described as a dildo war, although hopefully it also succeeded in raising awareness about the dangers of STDs and HIV in particular.

This is probably NSFW unless everyone you work with is cool with seeing a humongous bunch of people waving dildos around and hitting each other with them. I don’t know – maybe you work for a dildo company or in the porn industry so it could be par for the course for you, most other people though probably not.

It’s a good thing they weren’t using these 18th century dildos either, as that is something I would not want to smacked around the face with under any circumstance.
