Pornhub have decided to expand their brand by tapping into the power of what most of their subscribers spend most of their time doing by inventing the Wankband.

It’s a bracelet that creates ‘dirty energy’ from the user jerking off with the Wankband on their wrist – it contains a kinetic charger and the energy can then be used to power up devices like iPhones. Or your laptop so you can have another go.

Yes, this is a real invention – maybe we can get that guy who got caught wanking at Blackfriars train station the other day to use one, then his public displays might actually be useful.

Every day, millions of hours of adult content are consumed online, wasting energy in the process and hurting the environment. At Pornhub we decided to do something about it. Introducing The Wankband: The first wearable tech that allows you to love the planet by loving yourself.

To be honest, it’s a great idea and the invention doesn’t need to be limited just to masturbating – you could use it whilst you were playing tennis or video games or the drums, or even dancing probably, so its applications are endless. In fact somebody already created a similar invention for ravers called Ampy which is pretty much the same thing, although perhaps not as stylish.

In any case they’re both in the beta stages of testing so it seems like a race against time for who can get them out first – and which one of them is marketed the most effectively to their target audience. I’ve got a feeling the Wankband might have an easier job than Ampy in that department.
