What a shitty piece of news. One of the UK’s original great comedians, Rik Mayall, died this morning at the age of 56, according to his agent.

Rik is best remembered for playing Rick in The Young Ones and Richie in Bottom, and also put in bonkers, hilarious performances in Blackadder and The New Statesman.
