Russian President Vladimir Putin dethroned Barack Obama on Forbes’ list of the ‘World’s Most Powerful People’ this year. Forbes says four factors are taken into consideration when compiling the list: the amount of people over whom the person has power, the financial resources they control, how far their influence extends, and how active their efforts are to wield their power.
Not going to get into politics on this one, I think we can all agree that Putin generally has some pretty dated and dangerous views. However he’s also a badass who spends his time as President hunting wild animals and inspecting shipwrecks in his submarine – basically all the things I would do if I was President. Whatever you think of him, you have to say this is quite the slap in the face from Forbes to Obama; you’d think the ‘leader of the free world’ would automatically get the number one spot, not the dude who hates gay people and goes whale hunting with a crossbow.
