A first year Biomedical student at Brunel university in Uxbridge fell 70 feet to his death yesterday after falling out of the window of his sixth-floor dorm room in the Bishop Complex halls of residence.
Witnesses said he threw his books out of the window before climbing out of it and plummeting to the ground.
Paramedics rushed to the ground outside St. Margaret’s Hall, part of Bishop Complex, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A source said: “A small crowd had formed. I looked up and saw the body falling. As he fell everyone dropped back, screaming, shouting. It was horrific.”
The university said students were being offered counselling to deal with their shock. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
An informal memorial service will be held for the man on Tuesday evening on campus.
