4. Xoloitzcuintli
It’s pronounced Sho-lo-eets-quint-lee, but this breed is usually just referred to as the “Mexican hairless dog” or “Xolo”. It is regularly mistaken for the mythological ‘Chupacabra’ along the US border states but in fact this purebreed is so old that it was worshipped by the Aztecs.
