Over the years, dogs have evolved from hunters to loving companions and pets, but it’s only really when you spend some time with one yourself you begin to take note of all the different breeds and shapes and colours you see around. Chances are though, you won’t have seen any of the following, not in the flesh anyway:
8. Azawakh
This elegant breed is rarely seen outside of West Africa, where it makes for a fiercely protective and intelligent companion and guardian for its owner. They are mainly used for hunting gazelles and other animals of the African deserts.
