4) The Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion

The Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion is in Ethiopia. According to legend, and those that are in charge of the place, it holds the Ark of the Covenant, basically the holiest relic you can imagine (apart from Jesus’ foreskin obvs).
Apparently the Ark of the Covenant was brought to Ethiopia by Menelik I after he visited his father King Solomon. Don’t tell Indiana Jones, he’ll feel like a right wally. Although to be fair there are at least ten other places in the world that claim to have the Ark too, so maybe he wasn’t so daft.
The Ark is only ever viewed by one solitary monk guardian. Each monk guardian passes the job on to whoever he sees fit before he dies. If he dies before passing the buck the other monks have a vote on it. The guardian monk has to live there in solitude for the rest of his life. And you thought your job was rubbish.
